Our clients approached us with a problem: their basement was cold and damp, the electrical was dangerous, and the environment in general was unhealthy. The finishes seemed like a patchwork of left over materials, and there was mold growing in some areas. It was bad.
We completely stripped the 1940’s basement clean and opened the concrete slab floor to change the plumbing drains. We designed and rebuilt this space using the best materials, including foam walls insulation, new windows, insulated floor including heated floor in the bathroom / laundry room. We also recaptured the old ‘cold room’ to create a nook for studying that was open to the rest of the main room. There is also a new staircase and all new wiring that extends to the second floor. There are so many details in this new basement – can’t list them all here!
