Glebe Full Home Renovation

Downsizing done right
Objective
Create a modern and welcoming space for a retired couple to transition from a large home to a condo in the Glebe

Glebe Condo Transformation

At the 2016 Home Show, a couple stopped by our booth with a big plan: they were ready to leave their large stone home in Sandy Hill and downsize to a condo they had just purchased in the Glebe – right above the post office on Third Avenue.

The location was perfect, but the condo itself wasn’t. Built on the cheap by the developer, it showed its flaws immediately. Our job was to redesign the space so it worked for the way they wanted to live. We added a bedroom and a bathroom, introduced pocket doors to keep the layout clean and versatile, and rethought the flow from end to end.

This was also our first collaboration with Marie-France and Louis of L’Artisan Cabinet Company – our trusted kitchen design and fabrication partners to this day. Together, we tackled challenges like rerouting a roof drain that ran straight through a cabinet, soundproofing walls between units, fixing a poorly thought-out layout, and making the most of every square foot.

The result was a bright, functional condo that matched the couple’s lifestyle perfectly. For them, the Glebe location was ideal—and now, the home itself is too.
